Commissioning and testing.

Commissioning of the installations we delivered, alongside your automation engineer.

What commissioning covers here

Loop checks, energisation, dry runs, and then running the line with material until it stays up. An empty conveyor behaves differently from a full one, so it proves very little.

In practice the work runs in parallel. Your automation engineer commissions the program, we are out in the field and at the panel door. The faster information moves between those two, the shorter commissioning gets.

Time gets borrowed from the back end

When some other part of a project overruns, the time almost always comes out of commissioning. That is a habit we do not follow. The commissioning window is agreed before installation starts, and if installation slips you hear the effect in the week we find out.

Handover

The equipment is commissioned on time. That is the date that does not move. The commissioning inspection record and the rest of the handover documentation are delivered in the form you require, if necessary after the project closes, but you always know where they stand.

HOW A PROJECT RUNS

  1. 01

    INPUT DATA

Layout, device list and destination. That is enough to start pricing. On a process we know, a figure usually comes back in a day or two.

  2. 02

    SCHEDULE

The installation period and the commissioning window are agreed before work starts. Resourcing is locked down at the same time, because that is where overruns are made.

  3. 03

    INSTALL

Routes walked before anything is pulled, labelled before anything is live. The site is cleared daily. You know where the job stands without having to ask.

  4. 04

    COMMISSION

Loop checks, dry runs and running with material alongside your automation engineer. Commissioning inspection and handover documentation in the agreed form.

The questions that usually come first.

Do you sign off commissioning inspections on other firms’ installations?

No. We inspect only the installations we delivered ourselves. Signing an inspection moves liability from the installer to the inspector, and we do not take responsibility for work we did not watch being built. There are no exceptions to this one.

What happens if installation runs late?

You hear the effect on commissioning in the week we find out. The window does not move quietly.

When do we get the handover documentation?

The commissioning inspection record is ready at handover. Wider documentation is agreed case by case, and if it follows after the project closes we agree a date so you do not have to chase it.
